Twitter officially acquires TweetDeck | Gadgetell: "Twitter announced today that it has officially acquired the popular TweetDeck app. The team behind TweetDeck will join Twitter, though they wil continue to focus on the platform that many of us know and love.
Unlike the Twitter acquisition of Atebits which created the official Twitter apps for iOS and Mac out of Tweetie for both platforms, TweetDeck will remain the same for the foreseeable future. Both TweetDeck and Twitter label the platform as being great for brands, marketers, and power users in general, which TweetDeck certainly is. So it sounds like TweetDeck will continue as sort of the “professional” brand for Twitter."
