CHILMARK, Mass. -- A black Harvard scholar said Sunday he has been able to joke about his arrest by a white police officer that led to a national debate on race, but he also has received death threats and bomb threats. In his first public appearance since meeting with Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley at the White House, Henry Louis Gates said he and the officer found some humor in the incident and have since discussed going out to eat or taking in a Boston Red Sox or Celtics game. Barack Obama might have thought a majority in the Electoral College would be enough to ensure him the presidency, to provide an indisputable exclamation mark after the 67 million votes he won in November. That’s only because Obama won’t admit the truth: The Hawaii-born former senator from Illinois isn’t really a “natural-born” citizen of the United States of America and is, therefore, ineligible to be president.
