Tweet Tools & Twitter Gets an Oscar for Most Tweeted Brand

Advertising Age teamed up with social-media trend-analytics service What the Trend to create the weekly Top 10 Most Tweeted Brands list. How does it work? From the Notes section at the bottom of the AdAge.com post: We broadly define "brands" to include major marketers (e.g., Apple) and branded products (e.g., iPad), as well as celebrity and entertainment brands (e.g., Lady Gaga , American Idol ). Ad Age works with WTT to consolidate multiple threads of brand chatter (e.g., Apple, iPad, iTampon, Apple Tablet) into one position on the chart when it's clear that related Twitter conversations are basically all about the same topic, even if they use different keywords. This week's top 10: 1: Oscars (including Sandra Bullock , Kathryn Bigelow , The Hurt Locker , Avatar , James Cameron , Academy Awards, Kathy Ireland , Red Carpet, Precious , Crazy Heart , Tyler Perry , Best Picture, Jeff Bridges , District 9 , Molly Ringwald , Zac Efron , SJP, Be...

TwitCasting Live iPhone App: Multitasking at Its Best

I use it too! The fast-growing citizen-journalism sector just got a new toy to play with, as TechCrunch described new iPhone app TwitCasting Live , which splits the iPhone screen in half, allowing users to record and broadcast video on the top half, while at the same time accessing their Twitter accounts or the Web on the bottom half. According to TechCrunch, TwitCasting Live users can tweet out a URL for their broadcasts, and their followers can click the links and watch (although without audio on other iPhones). The sessions can be archived on the TwitCasting site , as well. By David Cohen on Mar 05, 2010 05:54 PM

The Facebook games that millions love (and hate)

STORY HIGHLIGHTS Zynga games like FarmVille, Mafia Wars are played by millions every day on Facebook Expert says social gaming succeeds by appealing to women, other non-traditional gamers Zynga founder says key to success was games that can be played during conference call Backlash leads to FB group of 5 million saying they're tired of seeing games (CNN) -- Early each morning, millions of farmers around the world rise to toil in their fields. By night, gangs of mobsters scheme and legions of poker players shuffle up and deal. Sure, none of it's real. But the overwhelming popularity of so-called social gaming -- simple games that let people play with their friends on networking sites such as Facebook -- is changing the face of video games, experts say. And as the maker of popular titles like FarmVille and Mafia Wars, San Francisco, California-based Zynga has ridden the games' skyrocketing popularity to the top of that emerging market. 30 Twitter Tools for Business

Web Based Twitter Clients and CMS Even with a desktop client like one of the above working in teams is difficult. Web based tools offer even more features for teams and companies HootSuite , a web based Twitter CMS for companies coTweet ( Twitter CRM? ) – coTweet has been hailed as a Twitter CRM app but it’s basically a Twitter CMS with very basic CRM features Twaitter allows team accounts, scheduled tweets, RSS integration etc. Tweetvisor is a horribly cluttered but very powerful Twitter interface or web based Twitter client CRM/Social CRM/TRM (Twitter Relationship Management) In case you are serious about business you most probably use some kind of CRM tools for customer relationship management. Both CRM software makers and new kids on the block attempt to harness Twitter conversations to get more leads and organize a better customer service. CRM solutions supporting Twitter are still rare though. At least one, Axopt already disappeared. CureCRM – Twitter and Email bases CRM...

Dear Mr. President, Senate and House of Representatives:

Dear Mr. President, Senate and House of Representatives : I'm planning to move my family and extended family (18-20 mouths) into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me. We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements. We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon , that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following: 1. Free medical care for my entire family. 2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not. 3. All Mexico government forms need to also be printed in English. 4. I want my kids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers. 5. Schools need to include classes on American culture ...

Tweeting from the Web? Nine Alternative Web Clients

Tweeting from the Web? Nine Alternative Web Clients Guest Author TechCrunch.com Saturday, July 25, 2009 12:49 AM This is a guest post by Israeli blogger Orli Yakuel , who has apparently spent a significant amount of time testing every single way of accessing Twitter. In this post she shares her experiences with nine of her favorite web interfaces for the Twitter service (we have one more that we like, too - tunein , that just launched a week ago). The tenth, of course, is Twitter.com - but the cool kids always want to be a little different. You can read more from Orli on her blog, go2web20 . Believe it or not, almost 50% of Twitter users, prefer to tweet directly from Twitter.com. This isn't surprising, but most heavy Twitter users agree that Twitter.com is actually the poorest user experience among the plethora of alternative web applications to access the service. But there's one thing Twitter.com has going for it (besides being the defaul...
