Police Seek Witnesses In Causeway Cannibal Attack MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami police are asking anyone who may have witnessed a nude man biting off pieces of another nearly naked man’s face on the MacArthur Causeway over the weekend to come forward. An officer came across the men shortly after 2 p.m., when police responded to a 911 call about two naked men fighting on a bike path along the Causeway. The fight was taking place at the causeway exit near the Miami Herald building. SURVEILLANCE CAMERA VIDEO The amazed officer tried to stop it and ordered the man making a meal out of the other man to stop. When the blood covered man refused to stop and turned toward the officers and growled, the officer shot him. The Medical Examiner has identified the man as 31-year old Rudy Eugene. Times-Picayune to cut publication to 3 days a week - Yahoo! News : "NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans' daily newspaper, The Times-Picayune, will switch to publishing three days a week starting in the fall and plans to increase its focus on online news. The 175-year-old paper announced Thursday the formation of a new company — NOLA Media Group — which includes The Times-Picayune and its NOLA.com website affiliate. The announcement said there will be unspecified staff reductions. Times-Picayune publisher Ricky Mathews, who will be president of the new venture, said the changes were necessitated by upheaval in the newspaper industry. Mathews said the newspaper will be home-delivered and sold in stores on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. A second new company, Advance Central Services, will print and deliver the newspaper." Detroit, whose 139 square miles contain 60 percent fewer residents than in 1950, will try to nudge them into a smaller living space by eliminating almost half its streetlights. As it is, 40 percent of the 88,000 streetlights are broken and the city, whose finances are to be overseen by an appointed board, can’t afford to fix them. Mayor Dave Bing’s plan would create an authority to borrow $160 million to upgrade and reduce the number of streetlights to 46,000. Maintenance would be contracted out, saving the city $10 million a year. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Authorities in California took the unusual step of jailing and charging a tuberculosis patient who they say refused to take medication to keep his disease from becoming contagious. Health officials said Armando Rodriguez, 34, of Stockton has active pulmonary tuberculosis, which can include coughing up blood or phlegm and can spread through the air. Rodriguez has been noncompliant with his treatment and could become contagious as a result, Ginger Wick, nursing director for San Joaquin County, said in a letter requesting a warrant for Rodriguez's arrest. After failing one time to give himself the drugs, Rodriguez told a nurse he had gone on an alcohol binge and taken methamphetamine and didn't want to hurt his liver, Wick said in her letter. Rodriguez was arrested Tuesday and is expected to be arraigned Thursday on two misdemeanor counts of refusing to comply with a tuberculosis order to be at home at certain times and make appointments to take his

DETROIT (WXYZ) - Pastor Marvin Winans was robbed and carjacked at a Detroit gas station Wednesday afternoon. Winans was at the Citgo Gas Station at Linwood and the Davison when he was robbed. The carjackers robbed him and took his deep purple  Infiniti QX56 SUV. The license plate number on the vehicle is 0DRT73. Detroit Police are searching for the suspects. He was not hurt in the incident, but was roughed up. Pastor Winans told Action News he felt something was wrong when he came out of the gas station's convenience store. He says four men followed him out and assaulted him while he was pumping gas. They robbed him, punched him and even ripped off his pants.
