Former Heat star Alonzo Mourning charged with leaving scene of an accident | AHN: "Former Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage Monday.
The charge is a second-degree misdemeanor and was announced by the Florida Highway Patrol. Mourning also was cited for failure to leave his driving and contact information.
“Our investigation is complete,” FHP spokesman Sgt. Thomas Pikul said.
The charges against Mourning will move into court, where he can plead or fight the charges. Mourning is also one of several people named in a civil suit filed on behalf of the man whose car he hit.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Mourning was involved in a crash just after 3 a.m. July 17. Mourning, 41, was driving home to Coral Gables with his wife, Tracy, from the wedding of Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh at the Fontainebleau Hotel."
