Mosque Leader's Death Topic Of Meeting: "Political and civil rights activists held a town hall meeting to share concerns over the fatal shooting of a mosque leader during an FBI raid.
The event Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit was organized by the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality. Participating groups include the NAACP Detroit Branch, Council on American-Islamic Relations' Michigan chapter and the 14th District Democratic Party.
The FBI says agents sought to arrest Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah Oct. 28 in a sting operation involving stolen goods when he fired a gun. An autopsy report said he was shot 20 times at a Dearborn warehouse.
Dearborn police are investigating. So is the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, which the FBI says is standard"
