For the first time in 46 years: a statewide recount | Politics in Minnesota: "For the first time in 46 years, Minnesota will conduct a statewide election recount, according to Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie.
“Minnesota for the first time since 1962 will have a statewide recount,” said Ritchie, speaking Wednesday afternoon at an event in St. Paul.
The recount concerns the Minnesota Supreme Court seat that is up for election this November. Tuesday’s primary was supposed to winnow the field to two Supreme Court candidates who will face off in the Nov. 4 general election. The nonpartisan Supreme Court race had four candidates on the primary ballot."
